Teamie – The Year in Review (2025)

As 2025 comes to a close, it is the perfect time to look back at a year that has been truly transformative for Teamie. From pioneering AI-powered features to joining forces with the Kydon Group, this year has focused on one core mission: making learning more collaborative, efficient, and future-ready.

The Next Step in Our Journey: Joining Kydon Group

In one of the most significant milestones in our history, Teamie was acquired by the Kydon Group, a leader in AI-powered learning and workforce development. This partnership represents a strategic alignment of vision, combining Teamie’s decade of expertise in collaborative learning with Kydon’s cutting-edge AI technologies. This new chapter allows us to scale our impact and accelerate the delivery of advanced, data-driven features to our global community of educators and learners.

The AI Revolution: Smarter Content Creation

This year, we integrated Generative AI into the heart of the Teamie experience to save educators hours of manual work:

  • Contextual AI Quiz Generation: Moving beyond generic questions, Teamie can now analyze your specific lesson content (including PDFs, videos, and YouTube links) to draft highly relevant quizzes.
  • AI Image Generation (DALL-E Integration): Users can now generate custom, high-quality visuals for classroom covers and lessons simply by entering a text prompt, eliminating the need for external image searches.

Advanced Assessment & Grading Control

We introduced several grading improvements to provide more nuance in how instructors manage performance:

  • Semester-Based Grading: To better support long-term academic tracking, instructors can now filter and calculate grades based on specific semesters, providing a cleaner view of term-by-term performance.
  • “Publish Grades Only” Option: Educators can now choose to hide raw scores and only display final grades (e.g., A, B, Excellent) and rubrics, promoting a more holistic view of achievement.
  • Highest Score Grading: When multiple quiz attempts are allowed, the system can now automatically record the learner’s best performance.
  • Gradebook Calculation Logic: We introduced the ability to consider only published scores for final grade calculations, ensuring that “work-in-progress” grading doesn’t prematurely affect a student’s standing.

Streamlined Unit Planning

Efficiency was a major theme in our 2025 releases, focusing on reducing clicks and increasing precision:

  • Pre-Configured Material Pushing: When pushing units to classrooms, teachers can now configure material settings (like publishing dates and deadlines) before the push, ensuring content is ready to go the moment it hits the classroom.
  • Enhanced Unit Planner: Educators can now copy materials directly into Unit Planners and edit details with fewer clicks. Furthermore, you can now update titles, descriptions, and weeks for sections and units in workspaces and unit planners, even after they’ve been pushed to classrooms.
  • Smart Assessment Sorting: A new sorting feature in the Rubric View allows assessments to be organized by deadline, helping teachers prioritize their workload.
  • Content Pushing Filters: When pushing content to multiple classrooms, a new “Show only mine” filter helps teachers quickly find the specific classrooms they manage.
  • Section-Level Progression: Teachers can now enforce a linear learning path, ensuring students master foundational content before moving ahead.

Mastery & Attendance: Automation at Scale

We’ve made it easier to track student records and presence with new automated tools:

  • Semester-Based Mastery Automation: Mastery data can now be automatically partitioned by semesters, allowing schools to track objective attainment over specific periods without manual data cleanup.
  • QR Code Attendance: To streamline physical or hybrid classrooms, students can now check into sessions by scanning a unique QR code generated by the instructor.
  • Seamless Zoom Attendance Integration: For virtual sessions, Teamie now automatically syncs attendance data from Zoom, marking students present based on their actual participation in the meeting.

Communication & Student Agency

  • Approving Student Stories: To maintain a safe and focused learning environment, we’ve introduced a moderation workflow for “Stories,” allowing teachers to review and approve student-created.
  • Direct Video Recording: Built-in tools allow users to record and share video updates or feedback comments directly within the platform.
  • Universal File Attachments: Any file type can now be attached to comments across all assessment types, providing a standardized feedback experience.

Mobile Apps Excellence (Android & iOS)

The Teamie app evolved into a truly powerful companion to the web platform:

  • Scheduled & Draft Post Support: Following its availability on Android, we have now brought full post-scheduling and draft support to the iOS app. Educators can now plan their communication ahead of time or save progress on the move, regardless of their device.

  • Multi-Account Support: Similar to Teamie Android, iOS app users can now also switch between multiple accounts (e.g., Teacher and Parent) seamlessly without logging out.
  • Submit on Behalf of Students: In a major update for classroom management, instructors can now submit assignments on behalf of students directly from the mobile app, perfect for assisting students who may have technical issues or offline submissions.
  • Switching Between Post Types: In a major usability boost, users can now change the post type (e.g., turning a Thought into a Task or an Announcement) while creating or editing a post on mobile. This ensures you never have to delete and start over if you change your mind.
  • Parent Posts on iOS: Instructors can now push posts specifically to parents from their mobile devices, ensuring vital communication reaches home instantly.
  • Native Student Mastery View: Learners now have a dedicated, high-performance interface on mobile to track their mastery progress against specific learning objectives.
